Visit us at Agritechnica 2019 in Hall 16, booth D14. We will be showcasing our latest innovations concerning testing of bearings and gearboxes and present our methods for 3rd party failure analysis with an emphasis on drive systems in agricultural applications.

In order to expand their testing capabilities, FERSA-NKE purchases a bearing test rig EELPAX-200 by Elgeti Engineering GmbH. This testing machine is equipped with an enhanced measurement system which allows for the detection of the smallest spalling and thus provides the most precise test results. Additionally, the next generation control system provides many additional functions such as load cycles, easy switching between manual and automatic operation, integration of torque measurement, and improved data acquisition for easier post-processing.

Jesus Monforte, Sales Director of NKE says: “For FERSA Group, testing is a key to ensure product fitness to the application and support our advanced engineering projects. With this acquisition, we increase as well our in-house testing capacity demanded by our project pipeline. In this sense we count on our strong cooperation with Elgeti to develop test rigs according to our needs.”

At the Hannover Messe, Meter Bearings and Elgeti Engineering announce their new partnership on bearing testing. Meter Bearings is a bearing manufacturer located in Robassomero, Italy (near Torino) and specializes in customized solutions based primarily on roller bearings. For testing their products, they will now rely on the services of Elgeti Engineering, which operates various endurance test rigs at their HQ in Aachen, Germany.

Massimo Ardissione says: “One of our strength is flexibility and the cooperation with Elgeti Engineering may help us to reduce the testing time and result in an improved experience of the bearing life and ability to support high loads during the application.”

On FVA Information Conference in Würzburg, FVA GmbH and Elgeti Engineering GmbH agree on a sales cooperation for the North American Market. Elgeti Engineering GmbH shall officially promote software products by FVA GmbH such as Workbench which is a powerful tool for design and verification of gearboxes and related machine elements.

Elgeti Engineering is starting a collaboration with RWTH Aachen International Academy gGmbH on their Master’s College for Mechanical Engineering for Bachelor senior students from the People’s Republic of China. The purpose of this Master’s College is the preparation of subsequent Master studies at RWTH Aachen. Therefore, the students attend intensive engineering lectures and German courses; they are involved in engineering practices and research and are closely tutored on scientific and cultural matters. In this context, internships at local companies and the option of writing their Bachelor thesis either at a German company or at a research institute of RWTH Aachen while being part of innovative research teams provide highly beneficial working experience. 

Professor Bernd Markert who is the director of  the Institute of General Mechanics at the RWTH Aachen University and a Professor of the corresponding host University in China are responsible for scientific management.

This collaboration helps us to develop highly qualified mechanical engineers for their professional future at our company in order to promote our business in the P. R. of China.

On VDI Conference “Agricultural Engineering”, we expose our bearing endurance test rig EELPRAAX-80 which is suitable for lifetime testing of rolling contact bearings up to 80 mm outer diameter at axial, radial or combined loads.
Especially in agricultural equipment, there are numerous different bearing applications with a broad spectrum of requirements which do not only derive from speed and load but also from environmental influences. Apart from technical challenges, competition leads to the necessity of permanent cost reduction by e. g. approval of new suppliers for which reason plenty of testing is required – both for design validation and for quality verification. Here, customers can rely on our testing capacity and expertise or on our products which can be customized upon particular requirements.

On 21st amd 22nd of June, we exposed our bearing test rig EELPRAAX-80 on VDI Conference “Drivetrains in Vehicles” in Friedrichshafen. This machine is designed for lifetime testing of bearings up to 80 mm outer diameter at radial, axial and combined loads why it is suitable especially for applications in passenger cars.

By beginning of September, our subsidiary Elgeti Engineering USA, Inc. moved into their new office in Valparaiso, Indiana. This allows us reacting more quickly on the needs of our customers in North America, especially related to on-site inspection, endoscopy, measurement of loads and vibration during operation and of course quality audits at local factories.
